The excellence of Arbatax

Regarding the industrial extentions of the last few years the modern creation of the structure of Arbatax has been a huge step. The choice to create this technologic center comes from a precise need: increase the production potentials of the shipyard at maximum level, improving the quality of the product. Thanks to a long and detailed planning phase started in 2002 by the world famous architect Willem Brouwer, Arbatax is on equal footing with the international standards of the nautical production and it is supported by the most advanced technologies but it also takes into account the human value and the quality of the work environment. Following this criteria, there is an artificial lake in front of the imposing structure, while in the area which surround it there are palm trees and citrus orchards. Arbatax, as it is, was created according to the will of Bruno Abbate, he has followed the realization with a strong abnegation and he was determined also when some bureaucratic difficulties slowed down the building process. A great support was given by the engineer Luca Galaffu, who has the ability to handle the working process and the interaction with the local resources. This structure is located in the industrial area called Baccasara, supported by the historical shipyard of Grandola ed Uniti, on Lake Como, producing more than 70% of the production Primatist. The main commitment of the shipyard is concentrated on the production of G41’.2 and G46’ and G53’ Pininfarina, but in the production phase it was also included G62’ Special Edition, organized before the last summer. The production sectors are 4: rolling, manufactured articles in VTR, assemblage and a fitting out line which is divided into areas according to the different models. A structure of that kind couldn’t avoid relying on technology and planning, with a staff specialized in computing and programmes of last generation, creating a source which “speaks” with an ultramodern miller in five axes of aeronautical type (3 m. high, 15 m. long and 8 m. width) which can be used for the cut of wooden bulkheads, but also for the cleaning and developing the milling of a boat model in scale of 1 to 1. Particularly functional the ring for the resin distribution at high load capacity, which draws from a cistern at variable temperature to optimize the working processes. In this respect, safety is a priority with ISO rules which find their application also in the collection cistern, as any other area it is under the cameras of a modern system of control. The final production processes before the delivery are the finishing and the polishing before the delivery, which is carried out after all the quality controls,
even in the sea, in the water in front of the shipyard.
